Importing Tokens from Figma
If your design system already lives in Figma as variables, Sync to Project pulls them into Token Designer so you can manage, extend, and publish from there.
How to do it
- Open the Figma file with the variables you want to bring in
- Open the Token Designer plugin
- Find the project you want to sync into (create one first if needed)
- Click Sync to Project
The plugin reads the variables from the current Figma file and imports them. After the sync, your tokens appear in the Token Designer editor ready to organize and modify.
What comes through
Figma variable types map to Token Designer types like this:
- Color variables become Color tokens
- Number variables become Dimension or Number tokens
- String variables become Font Family or other string-type tokens
- Boolean variables aren't supported yet
Sync limits
Each sync uses one of your monthly syncs (shown in the plugin). Free plan accounts have a cap. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited.
